Seeing as how the Underoath’s seminal screamo smash album They’re Only Chasing Safety turns 10 years old later this year, it’s as good of a time as ever to introduce yourself to a band that attempts to follow in their footsteps. New Jersey post-hardcore act Chasing Safety has been bubbling just below the surface in recent years and appears ready to make their mark.

Formerly known as Us, From Outside, Chasing Safety has undergone a slew of lineup changes to go along with their moniker switch. However, this current lineup is the strongest since the band’s inception as proven by this year’s The Machine EP. Self-released on January 28, The Machine is a fiery reintroduction to a band with something to prove.

Opener “We Believe” features killer breakdowns, an extremely catchy chorus and a thunderous roar from lead vocalist Johnny Galivan. Don’t believe us? Check out the video for “We Believe” below:
